Brave New World
I knew I had read a book between "Look Me in the Eye" and "Invisible Man" (which I'm currently reading right now and it's taking me FOREVER!)
So... Brave New World. It was interesting. I'm thinking that back in 30's, when it was published, it was probably pretty shocking and scandalous. Especially the sex part. Heh. It's almost come true too (not the part with the children... i mean, the adult sex.) For some people, it's totally true. Ha.
And the drug use... well, other than the fact that it's not just given away to anyone who asks (sorta) there are quite a few people popping pills today to avoid 'real life' or at least, to get through it.
It wasn't the best book I've ever read, but I'm glad I read it. I wish this book and Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison had been required reading for me in school. I would have gotten more out of them with class discussions, I think.
